Following his incredible comeback sprint at Frostbite 2020, Leonardo “MkLeo” Lopez has revealed he’s joined Korean esports organisation T1.

In a post on Twitter, MkLeo wrote: “I’m so excited to play and create content for T1, I will keep trying my best to keep pushing the Ultimate meta and get all those tourney wins.

“Thank you so much for this opportunity. This is just the beginning of a lot of great things with my new family.”

Despite his previous organisation Echo Fox disbanding last year, it was only earlier this month MkLeo officially parted ways with them - teasing a big announcement on the horizon.

The announcement of his departure was followed by SonicFox officially leaving Echo Fox too, so could T1 have snapped them both up?

On the T1 roster, MkLeo joins the organisation’s first ever Smash player Jason “ANTi” Bates - who signed up back in April 2019. Since then, T1 has also signed Korean player Sejun Park.

MkLeo has become the biggest name in competitive Smash Ultimate, winning EVO 2019 and three consecutive Genesis tournaments.

He’s still finding new ways to surprise too, dropping his main character Joker in favour of Byleth in the final round of Frostbite 2020.
