Nintendo found a goldmine with amiibo figurines that accompany every character in their marquee platform fighter franchise Super Smash Bros. since the release of the Wii U version, even expanding to other series like Animal Crossing.

During the live stream showcasing the latest Smash Ultimate character, Steve from Minecraft, game director Masahiro Sakurai revealed a piece of exciting news that got amiibo enthusiasts (and collectors in general)  pumped up — a new wave of DLC amiibos are coming in 2021.

Following the release of the Joker and Hero amiibos, Sakurai unveiled that Banjo-Kazooie, Terry Bogard, and Byleth are the next set of figures scheduled to come out next year.

After the excitement for a new amiibo, anxiety over how to get your hands on these cute (basically) limited edition figures comes next. To try and soothe you through this stressful process we put together everything you have to know about these amiibo releases.

When will the Banjo, Terry, and Byleth amiibos be released?

Sadly we didn't get a date set in stone, with a simple "2021" attached as a possible window. If we take a look at the schedule early this year, a set of amiibos was made available in January, with those being the Richter and Dark Samus amiibos.

Besides those two, the roadmap has been relatively dry this year, as fans had to wait nine months for a new set to be released, the aforementioned Joker and Hero, which came out this past 3rd October.

Where can I preorder the Banjo, Terry, and Byleth amiibos?

At the moment, there are no official listings for the amiibos, rest assured, Amazon and GameStop are still the safest bets to keep an eye one.

When Nintendo unveiled the Richter and Dark Samus amiibos, preorders went live two months before the release, in November. So expect a similar timeline for the next batch of figures and keep an eye out on listings by retailers.

How much will the Banjo, Terry, and Byleth amiibos will cost?

Amiibos may vary in prices depending on the series they're a part of, and if you don't manage to snag one from an official vendor, prepare to pay way above their regular cost.

Regularly, all Smash Ultimate amiibos will set you back around $15.99 (£12,99), a slightly heftier fee than the Smash for Wii U collection.
