The most important role in Squad, learn how to be a medic!
Squad Medic Role Guide: How To Play As Support Medic
Offworld Industries

Squad provides many exciting roles for players to experience, whether you're flying through the skies transporting a Squad to the battlefield, providing intense suppressing fire whilst your team crosses a field to safety, or breaking down walls with your tank, the title never fails to excite. However, players see roles more exciting than others, especially roles such as the Medic, which happens to be the most vital role in the entirety of Squad. Unfortunately, not many players know how to play the Medic role, with them busting into action at every opportunity and then wondering why their team hate them, nothing feels more ironic than reviving the medic...

Squad: How to Play Medic Role

The Medic role is the most vital role in the entirety of Squad, this is because you're the lifeline of every player entering the battlefield. Every player in Squad has access to two bandages that allow them to either heal themselves or others per usage. However, with all the explosions, flying bullets, and fragments directed at your positions throughout each battle, two bandages simply aren't enough to support your team and yourself; this is where the medics provide help.

Medics are no different from infantry and direct combat roles, except they are able to heal players whenever they take damage from friendly fire or enemy fire, which is quite common. Despite being less "involved" in combat, medics typically find themselves in the most intense and overwhelming experiences out of the roles, which is what most don't realize.

Medics are expected to place themselves in harm's way to provide aid to fallen or injured comrades, requiring players to patiently heal and revive players when under heavy enemy fire. This is incredibly difficult and intense, the enemy is smashing rounds down on your position and you're prone to stitching up a fallen comrade to advantage your team.

Squad: Medic Guide - Tips and Tricks

Here are some instructions on how to play Medic:

  • Constantly stick around the majority of your team
  • Remember to restock on bandages when respawning
  • Resist urges to return fire when in medical combat situations
  • Communicate with your Squad and navigate your support appropriately
  • Clear your comrade's location before reviving them
  • Stay alive, nobody likes the irony of reviving the combat-hungry medic

The medic will experience as much if not more, combat than any role within Squad. Under constant heavy enemy suppressing fire and attention from heavy vehicles such as Tanks and BMPs, meaning you're essentially public enemy number one, especially if you're reviving teammates the enemies have already shot!

With that in mind, please make sure you have the following equipment:

  • Smoke Grenades
  • Grenades (can't finish already incapacitated teammates)
  • Plenty of ammunition for your weapon
  • Sidearm for possible closer encounters

The reason why you need this equipment is that players love to camp incapacitated enemy bodies. Players swarm their incapacitated comrade's body like flies on rotting food, allowing them to take out additional players who are trying to help. Additionally, enemies will constantly lurk around locations where medics are spotted, they know you're coming to help eventually and will await your arrival with grace. Smoke grenades will conceal your location and the location of friendly bodies, grenades will clear out locations of fallen comrades, ammunition will provide suppressing fire to nail down potential enemy positions, and sidearms provide quick alternatives when reviving the teammates.
