Subnautica: Below Zero - Where to find Lithium

Lithium is an ultra-important resource in Subnautica: Below Zero.
Subnautica: Below Zero - Where to find Lithium

For any mid-late game upgrades in Subnautica: Below Zero, one resource that will continually pop up in blueprint recipes is lithium. This metal is needed in a plethora of crafting recipes and players will need it in huge supplies if they want to keep progressing with upgrades.

However, for a resource so needed in the game, it’s somewhat difficult to find in the early to mid-game. Players aren’t sure where to look, as the beginning biome of Twisty Bridges and its surrounding areas don’t hold too much lithium.

For any player struggling to find the metal or for players who want more of it, use this handy guide so you never have to worry about lithium again.

Finding lithium in Subnautica: Below Zero

Like most other metals in Below Zero, lithium is found on the seabed as a standalone resource. This means that it doesn’t have to be broken out of an outcrop, which would lower the chance of obtaining it. So once you find a good deposit of lithium, they’ll likely keep finding it.

As for what biomes you can find it in, the easier region to go to is Purple Vents. This biome holds the most abundant supply of lithium and it’s fairly easy to get to once you’ve upgraded your base and equipment. Lithium is simply lying all around the vents on the seafloor, ready to be picked.

If you’ve cashed out this region, then you can look in the following locations for an additional supply of lithium:

  • Arctic Spires
  • Crystal Caves
  • Deep Purple Vents
  • Deep Twisty Bridges
  • East Arctic
  • Thermal Spires
  • Tree Spires

You might have to venture a little farther for lithium than some other resources but once you have a Seatruck, you can find loads of the metal in the deeper part of Twisty Bridges and Purple Vents, among other places. This shouldn’t be too far from most players’ bases, making it a perfect location to find the resource and haul it back efficiently.

With a good amount of lithium in hand, you can construct various base upgrades, Prawn Suit upgrades and a couple of Seatruck mods.
