A guide to Dark Star: Spilling the TFTea

Dark Star champions bring power and darkness across all of TFT's Galaxies. This is all you need to know about Dark Star and how to achieve success with it.
A guide to Dark Star: Spilling the TFTea

Teamfight Tactics' third set, Galaxies, brought new and returning champions with classes and origins that differ from previous sets.

One of these origins is Dark Star. In Galaxies, Dark Star champions are one of the major origins, building stacking damage to each other upon death. When a Dark Star champion dies it gives increased damage, plus any previous stacks of this effect, to the nearest ally Dark Star champion.

The bonus activates on three and six champions:

  • Three = 50% damage increase
  • Six = 80%  damage increase

This is similar to the Shadow element found in Rise of the Elements and it utilises the Dark Star skinline found in League of Legends.

There are six Dark Star champions currently available in Galaxies:

  • Jarvan IV
  • Mordekaiser
  • Shaco
  • Lux
  • Karma
  • Jhin

Below is a full breakdown of the champions including their costs, classes and stats.

Build Guide

Dark Star champions’ are powerful units and a full team with them at the core of a composition can be very strong. As a major origin, they can be built upon to optimise themselves or other origins and classes around them. Jhin can easily be paired with Ashe and Caitlyn for the Sniper bonus that only requires two champions while Jarvan and Mordekaiser as starting Protectors can work with others in their class.

In order to get the full six champion bonus without all six champions above on the field, you will need to use a Dark Star's Heart on a non-Dark Star champion.

This item can be made with a Spatula and Sparring Gloves, dropped as a full item or found in carousels. While a previous patch removed Spatulas from the carousel, they have returned in Galaxies.
