Valorant Episode 6 Act 1 will release soon, and now it is time for us to welcome the brand new map, Lotus, in the game. It is the tenth map in Valorant and is set in the Western Ghats of Omega Earth’s India. Lotus is the national flower of the country, and the map is inspired by traditional Indian stepwells, rock-cut architecture, and Dravidian-style structures.
We got a first look at Lotus in the Episode 6: Revelation trailer revealed by Riot Games on January 5. The Valorant community is pretty excited about the map, and here is everything you need to know about it, including its release date, layout, gameplay, new exciting mechanism, and more.
Valorant Lotus Map Release Date
Lotus map will release in Valorant on January 10, the same day when Episode 6 Act 1 releases. It will also be accompanied by Split, which will return with some changes, and these two maps will replace Bind and Breeze in the competitive map pool.
Valorant Lotus Map Sites, Layout, New Mechanism
Lotus will be the second map in Valorant, with three sites after Haven, and as revealed before, it will have a brand new mechanism. You will be able to use rotating doors, a destructible wall/door, and a silent drop to navigate across the Lost City.
Its layout was revealed for a fraction of a second in the Episode 6 cinematic trailer.
Joe Lansford, the Level Designer, explained, "When designing Lotus, I was originally envisioning a space station and had an airlock mechanic that shut down large areas of the map. Turned out to just not be that fun, so we scrapped the idea and moved in the direction we have today."
Here is how the map looks:
Joe Lansford shared, "We wanted to make another 3 site map and show that this is more of a format we’ll keep using than just a single map. Additionally, we aimed to make a map with high flexibility and movement for both teams."
