Diablo 2 Resurrected is finally here and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world are rushing to once again dive into this legendary action RPG classic.

Unfortunately, as is often the case with the releases of highly anticipated popular games, the launch of a game often doesn't go as smoothly as developers would like for it to go.

And that's especially the case with games that are relying on servers to work as they should amidst a huge influx of players trying to get into the game.

Asides from server issues and problems with the game crashing, a number of players simply can not even start the game.

Let's check out what's that all about and why you can not start Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Diablo 2 Resurrected is now live, but many players are reporting problems with launching the game, particularly on PC.

They have downloaded the game and the blue "Play" button shows that the game is seemingly ready to be played, but when they press the button, nothing happens.

Players would press the "Play" button, upon which it will switch to "launching" and then "now playing", but nothing will actually happen, as the game didn't start.

Although it seems like a big problem, in reality, is a rather simple issue to fix. It is a strange bug that will appear only for the first time when you try to launch the game. This is what you should do in order to fix it:

  • Log out from your Battle.net account in the launcher
  • Turn off the Battle.net launcher
  • Start the launcher again and log in with your account
  • Start the game and now it should work

While this is not a guaranteed method to fix the problem, a huge number of players reported that this should do the trick!

Another thing you should do is to try to clear your registry because some old entries from the beta may create compatibility issues.

If these two things don't help, then it might be a bigger issue, for which we currently don't have a solution, but will try to find more answers and update this article as soon as we know more about it!
