Sony has revealed the PlayStation Studios brand to unite its first-party titles on PS4 and PS5.
PlayStation Studios brand revealed to launch with PS5

For the average consumer, it is not always perfectly clear which titles come from Sony Worldwide Studios and which are third-party titles.

With this in mind, Sony has created the PlayStation Studios brand, uniting first-party titles across the board.

The PlayStation Studios brand will launch alongside the PlayStation 5 (PS5) later this year, and will only feature in games developed by Sony Worldwide Studios.

Sony has revealed the opening video which will appear on games from PlayStation Studios.

The video below features characters all PlayStation fans will know, from titles such as God of War, Uncharted, Horizon Zero Dawn, and more.

If you are a PlayStation fan and can't wait for the PS5, then the PlayStation Studios brand opening video might just give you some chills, as it features iconic characters and simply looks perfect.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Eric Lempel, senior vice president and head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: "We are really excited about this. Over the last few years - and even the last decade - the strength of the titles coming out from our studios has been stronger than ever.

"We have been thinking about how we unite all of these great games under one brand, and really the purpose of that is to make the consumer understand that, when they see this brand, they're getting ready for a robust, innovative, deep experience that they've come to expect from games coming from PlayStation. So we came up with PlayStation Studios."

You won't see the PlayStation Studios brand on The Last of Us Part II or Ghost of Tsushima, as the brand will only launch later this year alongside the PlayStation 5.

Alongside first-party studio titles, the PlayStation Studios brand will also be seen in games created by work-for-hire developers, under Sony's direction.

The PS4 absolutely killed it this generation, and this is, in part, due to its amazing exclusive titles.

It will be exciting to see which PS5 games get announced during the year as Sony builds up to the next-gen of console gaming.
