Solar Ash: Release date, PC system requirements, gameplay, features and more

Heart Machine, developers behind the successful indie game, Hyper Light Drifter, are back with their forthcoming release, Solar Ash. Originally intended for an October release, the studio announced a short delay to further polish the game as well as resolve bugs that may hamper the game at launch.

Featuring a bright, vibrant, world and a mesmerising soundtrack, it's almost systems go before players descend into the void. Here's everything you need to know about Solar Ash, from its exact release date and time to the PC system requirements, gameplay and features.

Solar Ash release date and time

Following a delay in October, Solar Ash has a new release date of 2nd December 2021 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, via the Epic Games Store. The game is scheduled to release at 7 pm GMT +2, according to the game’s page on the PlayStation website.

Gameplay

Solar Ash is an action-adventure platformer game from developers Heart Machine and published by Annapurna Interactive. The players will follow the game’s protagonist, Rei,  a “voidrunner”, as she explores a colourful 3D-styled world that’s filled with alien planets and territories for resources, artefacts and more.

Through her explorations, she’ll encounter plenty of enemies and bosses as she fights to save her home planet from the notorious Ultravoid, a supermassive black hole. To prevent her home from an apocalyptic-like fate, she uses her unique skillset including speed and traversal abilities to defeat those who plan to stop her from succeeding.
