A brand new gameplay trailer has been released for Space Marine 2 at The Game Awards and it gives us our best look yet at the sequel from Saber Interactive.
For anyone who might have not played the original third-person hack and slash game in 2011, here is the gist of what you can expect:
"The cult-classic Space Marine franchise is about to return with a high-octane new experience set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, showcased in a bombastic trailer featuring the voice of actor Clive Standen (Vikings, Taken) in the role of fan-favorite Lieutenant Titus. Embody a Space Marine, a superhuman warrior who protects humanity from untold horrors, in brutally efficient third-person action. Expect the distinctively fast and fluid game feel from best-in-class studio Saber Interactive—the team and engine behind World War Z."
There is a good chance of Warhammer Space Marine 2 showing up at The Game Awards 2022 and rumour has it this will include gameplay!

Warhammer Space Marine 2 Release Date
The official release date is 9 September 2024.

Focus Entertainment has yet to give us an official release date, so for now; we'll just have to speculate regarding when we can expect the game to drop.
While no exact release date for Warhammer Space Marine 2 has been revealed, the game does have an official release date window of "2023".
As far as we know, Warhammer Space Marine 2 will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, according to the developers. So far, no mention of the PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch has been made, so it appears the game will be exclusive to next-gen consoles.
For now, we'll just have to wait for more official information regarding the game's platform and release date from the developers. So be sure to check back here occasionally for more.
Warhammer Space Marine 2 - Trailer
So far, we've seen only one trailer for Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2, which debuted at the 2021 Game Awards. It depicts the Adeptus Astartes fighting against the Tyranids' monstrous threat with no clear winner.
The trailer depicts a group of Imperial Guardsmen losing against a group of Hormagaunts, only to be pushed back by Ultramarine Captain Titus, who jumps into battle to save them. A reasonably simple trailer that we imagine was meant to drum up hype for the game without revealing too much.
Warhammer Space Marine 2 - Leaks & News
There are no sourced or suspected leaks for Warhammer 2, and no gameplay was shown in the initial trailer.
It does appear, however, that a tiny sliver of gameplay was shown on the Warhammer community website during an interview with developers at Saber:
Based on the interview with the developers, we have provided a few excerpts below that describe the focus of Warhammer Space Marine 2. They may also be leaking some crucial information about the upcoming game, but we will leave that up to your perception:
- (Andrey) – “As a member of a combat team, I’d say it’s the combat system… But overall, it’s the scale of everything. Space Marine 2 is much more epic than its predecessor in every single way.”
- (Andrey) “We want to give the player the feeling that they’re a big unstoppable death-dispensing warrior. All the combat systems, animations, and enemy behaviors are created with that clear purpose in mind. The feel when playing is essential. It’s about weight, momentum, and impact.”
- (Aleksandra) “The hardest part is to keep everything faithful to the lore and miniatures while making everything realistic at the same time. Miniatures have quite exaggerated shapes to make them stand out on the table. We couldn’t retrace the forms, so we needed to change them just a little while still staying true to the Warhammer IP.”
