MLB The Show 24 Legends Roster, New Players Announced

With a new game each year, the MLB The Show 24 legends roster continues bringing iconic players to an already extensive lineup of baseball greats from the past. Each new installment builds on what we've seen in recent years, and that includes last year's inaugural Negro Leagues mode featuring players from that period in history.

Not every prolific player makes the cut, but many of the most impactful players baseball has ever seen made it into the MLB The Show 24 legends roster. Even more players will be added as new Storylines are released later in the year, but there are already some big new legends in MLB The Show 24.

Updated April 1, 2024: The next batch of Storylines are due to arrive on April 4, which will continue to expand the MLB The Show 24 legends roster. 

New MLB The Show 24 Legends Roster

We've still got even more post-launch reveals on the way, but the first news about the Negro Leagues Storylines for Season 2 confirmed three new MLB The Show 24 legends and an alternate era version of Hank Aaron (who was already in the game). Several were also announced as part of the Feature Premiere for the Storylines: Derek Jeter mode.

Notable among this year's new legends, Toni Stone breaks ground as the first female ballplayer in MLB The Show franchise history. Storylines is also pacing themselves as far as rolling out every bit of content this year, so a few weeks after launch new legends and chapters will be added to both the Derek Jeter and Negro Leagues modes.

The full Negro Leagues Season 2 will feature 10 different legends, hopefully several of which will be new arrivals as part of the MLB The Show 24 legends roster. More of the MLB The Show 24 new legends will be revealed as the release date draws near, and we take a closer look below at some of the other names that could be on the table.

MLB The Show 24 Legends Roster Predictions

With the announcement of the MLB The Show 24 Negro Leagues Edition, we got confirmation that this storied part of African-American baseball would continue to be preserved and highlighted in the franchise's latest arrival. More Negro Leagues legends will be added to Storylines after launch, and here are just a few of the names we might see:

On top of the players we'll learn about in that part of Storylines, the Derek Jeter Storylines and future Diamond Dynasty releases could add even more MLB The Show 24 legends after launch. Here's just a few we might see this year:

There are a variety of reasons some players haven't made it into the game in previous years. Sony San Diego has avoided players with PED usage in their careers for many years, but we saw Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa change that up last year. Ultimately, these choices can also come down to whether the players themselves are interested in signing agreements to allow their likeness to be used in the series.

While the new additions to the MLB The Show 24 legends roster might not be as extensive as the full list we've predicted, several new additions have already arrived this year and more are sure to come. Here are all the new legends that were added in MLB The Show 23:

Seven of last year's 24 legends roster additions were part of the Negro Leagues Storylines mode. Three of the Negro Leagues Storylines available at launch featured new legends, and we expect the majority of additional releases to also add to the MLB The Show 24 legends roster.
