How to get a refund for Outriders on Xbox

If you are already a Gamepass subscriber and happened to pre-order Outriders, you might want to get a refund following recent developments.
How to get a refund for Outriders on Xbox

The upcoming third-person co-op RPG shooter, Outriders, from People Can Fly and Square Enix is out on 1st April 2021 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox systems. This is a 60 USD game, and following a decent demo, many players might have pre-ordered it. However, players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X might want to get a refund of their Outriders purchase following the recent news that the game will be on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

How to get Outriders refund

Since the game will be free for all Xbox Game Pass subscribers on Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and via xCloud, prospective Outriders players might want to get a refund for their Outriders pre-order.

Thankfully, getting a refund for your Outriders pre-order is quite easy if you act quickly.

Follow the simple steps below to get a refund for your Outriders pre-order on the Xbox family of systems.

  • Sign in with your Microsoft account at this link.
  • In your order history, find your Outriders pre-order (should show your date of purchase).
  • Click on your pre-order then select the "Cancel" option.
  • For credit card purchases, your money will be returned in the next few days. For Microsoft account credit purchases, the credit should show up instantly.
  • If you don't see the option to cancel your Outriders pre-order (possibly too close to launch) head to this link to get in touch with the Xbox refund team.

Those who pre-ordered a physical copy of Outriders will need to contact the store they made their purchase at for a possible refund. This depends on the store's policies for pre-order refunds.

While Outrides does seem like an exciting upcoming game, those who have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription really do not have any need to throw 60 USD at a game they will already be able to play...so get those refunds while you can.
