Pokémon GO Yveltal – Best Moveset, Counters, & Weaknesses

With the upcoming Pokémon GO Raids rotation, players will face off against powerful Pokémon in an attempt to defeat and capture them for themselves. One of these Pokémon is the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal, and if you need some tips on how to challenge this legendary beast, then you're in the right place.

As part of Pokémon GO's Season of Light, trainers will find themselves taking on epic challenges over the course of the next few weeks. Part of these challenges is the Raid events that players can participate in to capture powerful and rare Pokémon. 

Beginning on the 27th September up until the 8th October, trainers will be able to challenge Yveltal, the Dark/Flying Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation VI. Yveltal is weak against Rock, Electric, Fairy, and Ice-type moves, but it's almost impervious to attacks from Psychic, Ground, Dark, Grass, and Ghost types, so forget about taking them into battle when going up against Yveltal. Below are the best Pokémon and their counter moves to use against Yveltal when you go into battle against it: 

• Zekrom: Charge Beam and Wild Charge

• Xurkitree: Spark and Discharge

• Darmanitan: Ice Fang and Avalanche

• Therian Thundurus: Volt Switch or ThunderShock and Thunderbolt

• Rhyperior: Smack Down and Rock Wrecker

• Rampardos: Smack Down and Rock Slide

• Mega Aerodactyl: Rock Throw and Rock Slide

• Electivire: Thunder Shock and Wild Charge

Once you've caught Yveltal, you'll need to know how to take advantage of its strengths and account for its weaknesses in a battle against other trainers' Pokémon. To do so we've put together the best move set that you should use for Yveltal in Pokémon GO: 

• Gust

• Hurricane

• Dark Pulse

Gust and Snarl are the best quick attacks that you can use to take advantage of Yveltal's strong base attack strength. Snarl in particular should be saved for PvP.  For your charged attack, we recommend Hurricane and Dark pulse to give you some real firepower when you need it in battle.
