The Fashion Week event is returning to Pokémon GO, with new pocket monsters making their appearance and lots of fashionable items for Trainers to acquire. Following its debut in last year’s limited-time event, Furfrou will return in various gameplay activities.
With the Normal-type Pokémon's return, Trainers wonder if Furfrou can be Shiny in the limited-time event. This guide details if Shiny Furfrou will spawn and where Trainers can likely encounter the Shiny form in Pokémon GO.
Is There A Shiny Furfrou In Pokémon GO?
Trainers looking to participate in the upcoming Fashion Week event should anticipate crossing paths with the Normal-type Pokémon, Furfrou. However, they should be eagerly excited that the Shiny Furfrou will debut in this Pokémon GO event.
Time to fashion and glamor it up!— Pokémon GO (@PokemonGoApp) September 20, 2022
From September 27 through October 3, look out for Pokémon showing off some serious style for #FashionWeek in the wild, through research tasks, and via Eggs!
Pokémon GO Fashion Week will begin on 27th September 2022 at 10 am local time and conclude on 3rd October 2022 at 8 pm local time. In addition, there are several gameplay activities where Furfrou will make an appearance.
The first of these gameplay activities Trainers can encounter Furfrou is the upcoming Raids available for Pokémon GO Fashion Week. Alongside Diglett, Shinx, Croagunk, and Scraggy, Furfrou will feature in one-star Raids with the chance of a Shiny Furfrou spawning.
Next, Furfrou will be featured in the Field Research Tasks available for the Fashion Week event. Trainers can complete each research task to be awarded an encounter with the Normal-type Pokémon, but they may be a chance to receive another encounter when all the Field Research Tasks are completed.

Lastly, Trainers exploring the vast open world in its fashionable glory during the event may cross paths with Furfrou. For the Raid, Field Research Tasks, and in Wild Encounters, Furfrou may have its Shiny form appearing for a chance to add it to their PokéDex.
To increase their chances of finding and catching Furfrou, Trainers should pack enough PokéBalls and use Incense to attract more wild Pokémon. If they are near PokéStops, Trainers can opt to use Lure Modules instead; these function similarly to Incense.
Importantly, Shiny Furfrou will extend to the various Trims; however, Trainers must catch its Natural Trim form. Once they’ve successfully captured the Natural Trim Furfrou, they must locate the Pokémon storage and select “Form Change” to view the available trims for the Pokémon, which are the following:
- Matron Trim: available to all Trainers globally
- Dandy Trim: available to all Trainers globally
- Debutante Trim: available to all Trainers in North and South America regions
- Diamond Trim: available to all Trainers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa regions
- Star Trim: available to all Trainers globally in the Asia-Pacific region
- La Reine Trim: available to all Trainers in France
- Kabuki Trim: available to all Trainers in Japan
- Pharaoh Trim: available to all Trainers in Egypt
Changing Furfrou’s Trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust to complete form changing process.
After Trainers have selected their preferred Trim, they must select “Change Form,” and they’ll have successfully changed its form with a chance of it being Shiny should they catch a Shiny Normal Trim Furfrou.
