How To Complete The Tailor's Dilemmas: The Thaumaturge Quest Guide

In The Thaumaturge, Wiktor can change his appearance. This can be from altering his hairstyle and facial hair to changing his wardrobe completely. When it comes to clothes, Wiktor needs to visit a tailor, and the one in Warsaw could do with a hand.

Inspecting items around The Tailor's Atelier and speaking to tailor will open up the Side Quest, The Tailor's Dilemmas, where Wiktor finds out that the tailor is lacking in inspiration. It's up to Wiktor to help the tailor by finding inspiration around the city.

The Tailor's Dilemmas Quest Walkthrough In The Thaumaturge:

To complete The Tailor's Dilemmas, you'll be looking for objects to examine around the city. You'll need to use your Perception skill to find the items as the quest marker won't point you to any. 

If you're having some trouble trying to locate the items, don't worry. We'll show you exactly where you need to look. Note: these items can change locations in different playthroughs, though they should all be found within the same vicinity. 

A Dream Within A Dream Item Locations (Northern Srodmiescie)

1. Empty Tube - Northern Srodmiescie
   

   

   
   You can find this Observation between the Tailor's Atelier and the Szulski Family House. A man hammering on a cart, during daylight hours, will be to the left of the item you're looking for. Use your Perception to locate the Empty Tube of purple paint.
   
   
2. Postcard from Lodz- Northern Srodmiescie
   

   

   
   This Observation is found to the north of the Szulski Family House, past the gathering of people enjoying food and wine. Use your Perception on the structure to find the item. There's also a waiting bench to the north of the structure. 
   
   
3. Geometry Handbook - Northern Srodmiescie
   

   

   The final Observation you'll be looking for to complete A Dream Within A Dream is the Geometry Handbook, which can be found in the north-eastern portion of Northern Srodmiescie. It can be found behind a lamp post and to the left of a man kneeling by some painting.

With all three items found, Wiktor will be able to draw a conclusion. You'll now be able to follow the Perception trail, which might lead Wiktor to a building site with some less-than-friendly workers. You'll need to defeat the workers in order to reach the final item behind them — The Fashion Review - September 1905. Edit: the location of The Fashion Review may change depending on your playthrough. You may avoid the fight altogether.

Pick up the item and return to the tailor. For completing A Dream Within A Dream you'll unlock the Crimson Audacity shirt, Conceited Creases trousers and High-Class Outerwear Jacket.

Off-White Item Locations (Powazki Cemetery)

1. Lost Note - Powazki Cemetery
   

   

   Can be found on the ground near a milk cart, just as the road veers off to the east. 
   
   
2. Lipstick - Powazki Cemetery
   

   

   On a bench, near the Barber's shop.
   
   
3. Lily Petals - Powazki Cemetery
   

   

   Inside the cemetery, by a mausoleum to the very top east of the area.
   

Once you've gotten all three, follow the Perception trail to a cart where you'll pick up "The Gentlemen" — May Issue fashion magazine. Return to the Tailor to receive the following: With a Hint of Inaccessibilty shirt, Lines of Impudence trousers, Lordly Fashion coat. 

Against the Current Item Locations (Powisle)

1. Brooch - Powisle 
   

   

   
   Found near wooden steps by the Brothel, in the south of Powisle.
2. Receipt - Powisle
   

   

   
    A receipt for an order of fabrics from America. found near the center, in a corner. By barrels of fruit, sacks, and metal milk cans.
   
   
3. Photograph - Powisle
   

   

   
   Found in the northern part of the map, to the south of the carriage. May spawn in front of a man sat (or asleep) on a bench.

Follow the Perception trail to pick up a copy of "The Gentlemen" — March Issue. Return to the tailor to receive: Haughty Colors shirt, Snobbish Pattern trousers, Conceited Extravagance coat.
