Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League Release Date Speculation

At the time of writing, there is no official confirmed release date for Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League, but in this article, you’ll find all (if any) information that the developer shared, as well as some speculation from Ginx on when we could see it launch.

Following the relative success of Crash Bandicoot 4, Activision now sees an opportunity to tease the much-anticipated Wumpa League alongside the promotion of Crash Bandicoot 4's Steam release that recently came. This promotion came in the form of a faux Pizza Box sent to fans that contained some goodies but also some hints at what is to come.

The promotional pizza box in question, as detailed in a video by YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh, is emblazoned with the words 'Aku Aku's Steam-in Pizza Shack,'. This is a not-so-subtle hint that the formerly Battle.net exclusive PC version of Crash Bandicoot 4 will (as fans had already guessed) finally be making its way to Steam. And to clear up any confusion, an attached label confirms an 18th October Steam release date.

Along with this, a seemingly innocuous message hidden on the side of the pizza box was also found. This message reads, "Do you want more? For $12.08, try our new Wumpa pizza!". At first glance, that could easily be dismissed as a fun bit of extraneous design detail, but as a couple of astute observers have pointed out, 12.08 - US shorthand for the 8th December. This also happens to be the day that this year's Game Awards takes place.

Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League Leaks

Last but not least, Toys for Bob, the developer known for its work on Call of Duty and the team behind 2017's Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy remaster and Crash Bandicoot 4, is said to be working on the upcoming new Crash Bandicoot game. The developer has been dropping hints about a mysterious new project, which Windows Central speculates is another Crash Bandicoot game.

What Is Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League?

Earlier this year, the publication claimed a Crash-themed four-player brawler was in the works, but it's unclear if this is the same game Activision is now teasing as Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League. So for right now, we'll just have to wait and see for more details surrounding the game, but with all the evidence we have so far, it's safe to say we can expect some exciting news from the Crash Bandicoot franchise very soon.
