Apex Legends Mobile is now available in India and soon the Philippines

It was announced a week ago that Apex Legends Mobile closed beta will be available in India and the Philippines by the end of April 2021. And finally, the time has arrived! EA has now made the game available to a few thousand players, on a first come first serve basis.

It is worth noting that the game is currently only available on Android devices. The players who are currently residing in India and the Philippines and also got the early access invite, can head over to Google Play and download the game. The game size is 1.2 GB and there will be another 442 MB download inside the game.

Unlike Fortnite, where the mobile players can team up with PC/Console players, Apex Legends Mobile is specially made for mobile devices and it will not allow cross-platform games. However, just like its PC counterpart, the game is free to play and comes with in-game purchases.

First impressions

On the very first try, Apex Legends Mobile looked quite smooth and fun to play. The performance is surprisingly good, especially when considering the fact the game is just in the closed beta and not representative of a final build. With a heavy arsenal of guns, currently, there are 8 playable characters to choose from, with more likely to be available when the game launches globally.

EA has already commented on the launch roadmap of the game. This is the first phase of the testing and the game will be rolling out to more regions in the near future:

“The first of these begins Spring 2021, and will only be available on Android devices. As we continue with testing, we’ll expand the size of these tests, add new regions, and implement iOS support. When we’re ready to go broader, we’ll launch a page that allows you to pre-register for the game and sign up for news about the betas”
