Ubisoft has released the latest patch update for their stealth action-adventure game, Assassin's Creed Mirage, which arrives on all supported platforms. The patch update v1.0.7 arrived on 20th February 2024, and its file sizes vary between console and PC as the update addresses multiple general and bug fixes, but it also added a long-awaited feature.

Mirage's Full Synchronization Challenge, or the permadeath mode, was finally included in this patch update after being delayed in December 2023. The mode was initially scheduled to be released alongside the New Game + mode; however, the development team needed more time to complete work on the permadeath mode.

Full Synchronization Challenge is Mirage's offering of a permadeath mode, which aims to challenge players' abilities in "the ultimate test of your assassin skills." According to the patch notes for the v1.0.7 update, this permadeath mode will "desynchronize" the protagonist Basim from the Animus should he die or commit "illegal actions" when enabled.

These actions include executing civilians or exploring areas beyond "authorized map locations," which, should any be committed, a unique screen will appear displaying total gameplay time, total fights triggered, enemies slain, their Assassin rank, game difficulty, and their cause of fatality. If they cannot keep Basin alive or fail to adhere to the rules during their permadeath run, their saved game file will be deleted, but should they complete the game, they will be rewarded.

The permadeath mode can be enabled on any difficulty, and the rewards earned will correspond to the difficulty completed. Players can earn a Talisman after completing this run in Easy difficulty while receiving a Talisman and the Rayhan costume for completing the game in Normal difficulty.

However, should they be daring enough to complete the permadeath mode in Hard difficulty, they will unlock the previously mentioned rewards and six "new dyes for existing outfits." These dyes only apply to the following outfits: Abbasid Knight, Bayek, Hidden Ones, Initiate, Rostam, and Zanj Uprising, so players have been advised.

A few notable mentions players must remember when starting the Full Synchronization Challenge is that it can be enabled from the title screen after starting a new game file. However, this mode can't be disabled or enabled once starting and cross-progression, and all cloud saves will be disabled at the start of their permadeath run.

Lastly, this patch update also included a new cosmetic feature whereby they can wear any cosmetic item they own as an outfit with the Transmog feature. And the developers have added a purrfectly new Easter Egg for players to find in the streets for players to grab a quick picture should they spot it.
