Assassin's Creed Mirage creative director Stéphane Boudon and art director Jean-Luc Sala hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit this past week to discuss and answer fan-related questions regarding Assassin's Creed Mirage. The developers answered a myriad of questions and provided updates regarding additional support and post-launch content for Mirage.

During the AMA, Boudon explained that the studio, Ubisoft Bordeaux, is interested in revisiting Basim after the success of Mirage. At the same time, the studio expressed their interest in following up with the character sometime down the line, as for continuing the story and experiences of Mirage appears to be closed.

In response to a question about developing a DLC or new storyline for Mirage post-launch, Boudon responded that while the team was absolutely "thrill[ed] by the reception of Mirage," however the game was designed "as a standalone experience without any DLC plan. However, we have ideas on how we could extend the story of Basim, surely. But as of today, no post-launch content is planned for Mirage."

Since the game's launch in October 2023, there have been multiple updates to deploy bug fixes, add new features, Quality-of-Life (QoL) improvements, and content, with 1.0.8 being the recent update released. The New Game Plus (NG+) and permadeath mode were also added post-launch, along with new cosmetics and Easter Eggs, so it seems definitive that no new content is planned for Mirage moving forward.

When responding to another question about the game's support regarding future patch updates and bug fixes, Bourdon added that a major update isn't planned for Mirage. However, the team will continue "monitoring the game and listening to player feedback," so there could be some support for the game before it ends.

In the meantime, players who have yet to explore Baghdad, the City of Peace, through the eyes (and perspective) of Basim can play the first two hours of Assassin's Creed Mirage for free. This is available between 16th and 30th April 2024 for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S and PC which can be carried over their progress to the base game.
