Conan Exiles Hardened Steel Guide – Crafting & Usage

Crafting and using Hardened Steel in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery is vital in a survival game. The main premise of any survival game is protection, whether it's your armor, weapons, or building. This is why Hardened Steel is a must-have in your inventory. 

This guide will cover how to craft and use the better steel in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery, including where to get the necessary materials needed to craft it.

How To Make Hardened Steel

Hardened Steel is an important asset in a survival game like Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery. Here is how to craft Hardened Steel to create stronger weapons, buildings, and armor. The main materials you will need to craft Hardened Steel in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery will be Black Ice and Steel Bars. 

In order to create Steel Bars, you will need an Iron Bar which can be farmed from Iron Rock. To make Iron Bars, you will need a Furnace and 2x Iron Rock to craft 1x Iron Bar. Once you have created Iron Bars, you can then produce to craft Base Steel, to do this you will need Iron Bars and Steelfire. 

Steelfire can be made at the Firebowl Cauldron, you will need 2x Tar and 1x Brimstone. Once you Iron Bars and Steelfire, place them in a Furnance to make your Base Steel. You can also get Steel by attacking neighboring camps and looting them

How To Craft Hardened Steel

Now onto crafting Hardened Steel, for this, you will need Black Ice which can be farmed in the icy areas of the map, so make sure you are wearing sufficient armor to protect yourself from the cold. To craft Hardened Steel, you will need 1x Steel Bar and 1x Black Ice, place these items in a Furnance to get a Hardened Steel Bar. 

Hardened Steel has many uses in Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery, this is because it's one of the strongest materials you can get in the game. Aside from using Hardened Steel in your building, it's a great protective material to use for your weapons and armor. For example, you can craft Hardened Steel Daggers using 30x Hardened Steel bars and 4x Shaped wood and a Hardened Steel Shield for 30x Hardened Steel and 5x Twine.
