Berlin Major New Challenger stage opening matches drawn

The first-round matches for the upcoming StarLadder Berlin Major, due to start August 23, have been drawn, with sixteen teams facing off for eight spots in the New Legends stage. The best CS:GO teams in the world will be looking to win the biggest prize in Counter-Strike, with a Major win being what every player puts so much time and effort into the game for.

Day one fixtures are as follows (local time CST):

  • 12pm: Vitality vs Syman Gaming
  • 12pm: NRG vs Dreameaters
  • 1.15pm: G2 vs Tyloo
  • 1.15pm North vs INTZ
  • 2.30pm: FURIA vs Hellraisers
  • 2.30pm: Mousesports vs Forze
  • 3.45pm: Avangar vs Complexity
  • 3.45pm: Cr4zy vs Grayhound

Like the New Legends stage, the New Challenger stage will follow a 16-team Swiss System format, with teams playing opposition with the same record. For example, teams that win their first match will face another team that wins their first match, and so on.

The second round of play (1-0, 0-1) will also take place on the opening day, with one round being played each day from then on until teams with three wins will advance to the next stage of the Major.

Matches are best-of-one except for elimination and advancement matches, which will be best-of-three.
