ESL Pro League Season 17 starts on 22 February 2023. The tournament runs for just over a month, with the end date of 26 March 2023, when a champion will be crowned.

This massive CS:GO esports tournament is, of course, a LAN event that should take place in front of a crowd, especially during the playoffs. It takes place in Malta, with the exact venue location currently unknown.

ESL Pro League Season 17 will feature a total of 32 CS:GO teams from across the globe. This includes 15x Partner Teams, 3x ESL World Ranking, 3x ESL Challenger, and 11x EPL Conference teams.

ESL Pro League Format & Stages

For 2023, ESL has made some significant changes and improvements to the ESL Pro League format. Check out the tournament format for both the Group Stage and the Playoffs stage below.

Group Stage Format:

  • Four Groups of eight (8) teams each.
  • Tripple-elimination format groups.
  • All matches are best-of-three (BO3).
  • Top four teams from each group advance to the playoffs.
  • Bottom four teams from each group get eliminated.
  • Group winners advance to the Quarterfinals of the playoffs.
  • Runner's up in each group advance to the Round of 12 as High Seeds.
  • 3rd place finishers in each group advance to the Round of 16 as High Seeds.
  • 4th place finishers in each group advance to the Round of 16 as Low Seeds.

Playoffs Stage Format:

  • Single-elimination bracket format.
  • All matches are BO3, except for the Grand Final, which is BO5.

Please note that for this year, there will be 32 teams (up from 24) competing in each new season of ESL Pro League.

Prize Pool at ESL Pro League S17

There's a total prize pool of $850,000 USD on the line at ESL Pro League Season 17. The winner of the tournament also directly qualifies for IEM Cologne 2023.

At the time of writing, the exact prize pool distribution is unknown. We will update this section once the information becomes available.

How to Watch All ESL Pro League Season 17 Matches

Starting with ESL Pro League Season 17, there's a "new philosophy and production setup" for the event. There will also only be A and B streams instead of three streams, as in previous years.
