Shox's buyout reportedly too high for Team Vitality

Following their benching of Nathan “NBK” Schmitt, Team Vitality were reportedly targeting either Fabien “kioshima” Fiey or Richard “shox” Papillon.

However, it appears they may have to relax their interest in shox due to how pricey his buyout is, according to a report from French esports website 1pv.

1pv says that G2 Esports is looking for between $500,000 and $700,000 to release shox from his contract and pick him up alongside Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut and co., which is more than Vitality would be willing to pay.

As a result, it seems Vitality will most likely be looking to kioshima, who most recently played for Cloud9 before leaving the team in February. This makes him a free agent and, although perhaps not as desirable a pickup as shox, saving over half a million dollars could make the pickup well worth it.

Due to not having five players on their starting roster, Team Vitality have announced that they will no longer be attending BLAST Pro Series Moscow, supposed to be their debut in the BLAST Pro Series. The team will now be looking ahead to October 1, when they kick off at DreamHack Masters Malmö. With any luck, by then, they will have found NBK's ideal replacement and be back on track to continue their great performances they've had throughout the year.

The team is currently ranked fourth in HLTV's CS:GO rankings, below only Team Liquid, back-to-back-to-back Major winners Astralis and NRG. Any player that joins will instantly have a lot of pressure on their shoulders to catch up with the teams above them.

Let us know what you think – do you think shox would be worth the type of money G2 is asking for? Or are they better off picking up Kioshima in this situation?
