The International group stage concludes

Chaos Esports Club and Ninjas in Pyjamas were the two teams eliminated for finishing in last place in Group A and B respectively. Neither team won a single game, both finishing the event 0-3-5.

PSG.LGD topped Group A, with Team Secret, Newbee and TNC Predator also taking Upper Bracket Seeds, while Alliance, Mineski, Team Liquid and Keen Gaming are the Lower Bracket Seeds.

The finalist at TI18, PSG.LGD topped their group with the same roster from last year's event, while the other finalist and eventual champions OG were also the top seed over in Group B.

Group B saw OG not lose a single best-of-two, with six wins and two draws to VP and Vici Gaming as their final result. Vici, Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro are the Upper Bracket Seeds and Infamous, fnatic, Natus Vincere and Royal Never Give Up are the second set of Lower Bracket Seed teams.

Evil Geniuses player and TI15 champion Syed Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan has become the first player to get 1,000 total kills across all 'The International' tournaments at 20 years old. PSG.LGD player Lu "Somnus丶M" Yao also hit 1,000 kills during the Group Stage.

The Upper Bracket sees five of the eight TI18 teams return, with four rosters unchanged. Two opening best-of-threes, PSG.LGD/VP and EG/Secret, will be the same matches as last year, with PSG.LGD and OG on opposites sides of the bracket. It is possible the two once again meet in the Upper Bracket Final before a final showdown in the best-of-five Grand Finals for over $15,000,000.

A win for OG here would mark the first two-time winning organisation and make every player a two-time TI champion.

The Main Event starts on 20th August and concludes 25th August, with the whole event broadcast on Twitch, Steam.tv and in-game through DotaTV as well as streamed live here on GINX.tv or broadcasts in over fifty countries.
