Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot leaks confirm Golden Frieza DLC

After months of waiting, the focus of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s second DLC pack has been revealed.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot leaks confirm Golden Frieza DLC

With the first Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC allowing players to surpass their limits and become a Super Saiyan God, many thought that the logical next step would be to ascend even further. Now it seems that these theories were correct, going by a series of new scans from an upcoming edition of V Jump magazine.

According to the new leaks, Goku and Vegeta will be attaining their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS) forms, complete with new outfits and blue hair in DLC 2. These forms were first seen in the ‘‘Resurrection ‘F’’ movie and later appeared in Dragon Ball Super’s second arc.

Of course, this new power level comes with its own iconic enemy to fight as well. Instead of facing off against God of Destruction, Beerus, this time it seems that players will be fighting Golden Frieza. The latest transformation from one of the most notorious villains in all of anime, Golden Frieza is the result of the character’s training after being resurrected, and it’s a great threat to Earth’s inhabitants.

Fans of the franchise will know that Frieza usually comes equipped with a whole army, and the scans suggest that the Frieza Force will be a part of the fight too. Thankfully, both Goku and Vegeta appear to have learned some new tricks of their own. With skills such as Ultimate Vanish and God Speed Fist joining the fight, these powerful new forms have some real firepower backing them up.

So far, there’s no confirmed release date for these new DLC pack, so it’s likely a few months away right now. Online speculation suggests that the date will be clarified in the next V Jump issue, perhaps alongside a screenshot of Golden Frieza in action, but we’ll have to wait and see for now.

It’s nice to see another major Dragon Ball title getting some new content, especially as Kakarot has some excellent single-player content, something that other games in the franchise tend to lack. When it comes to multiplayer action though, Dragon Ball FighterZ is still the champion, and fan-favourite Master Roshi has just been announced to be joining the action.
