Looking to unlock the hidden ending in Dragon's Dogma 2, dubbed as the "true ending" for the Arisen to experience? Then you are in luck, as we will guide you through the process with all the steps needed to make it to the end.

Spoiler warning:Obviously, there are big spoilers in this guide, as it does focus on the ending of Dragon's Dogma 2. However, we didn't get into particulars of what the game's true ending is, only explaining how you can get a specific blade, and how you can unlock the hidden ending.

How To Get Empowered Godsbane Blade

Before you can even think about unlocking the true, hidden ending in Dragon's Dogma 2, you will need one specific item. Again, this is MAJOR spoiler territory; so below the image of my main pawn, named after my real-life cat Kwessie, you'll find spoilers for a main quest.

Players can get this item, Empowered Godsbane Blade, in Dragon's Dogma 2 by completing one of the last main quests, entitled A New Godsway. Rothais tasks you with bringing the Dulled Godsbane Blade to Ambrosius in the Forbidden Magick Research Laboratory.

From here, you must get 15 Wyrmslife Crystals and give these items to Ambrosius. Now, wait a full in-game day and return to get the Empowered Godsbane Blade, an item required to unlock Dragon's Dogma 2's hidden, true ending.

So we aren't going to actually spoil the true, hidden ending in Dragon's Dogma 2 for you. Instead, we will provide you with instructions on how you can unlock it and what you should do in a specific place without telling you how the story really ends. Follow the steps below!

  • In the Legacy quest, choose to fight the dragon.
  • Ride on the dragon's back.
  • Move to the dragon's chest underneath it by crawling to where you think its heart is while you are still riding on the dragon.
  • Once in position, select the Empowered Godsbane Blade from your inventory and use it.
  • Watch some incredible scenes play out.
  • Now you're in a different place we won't name.
  • Once you are on the dragon again, move to its head; don't worry, you'll spot where you need to go!

We've left the steps accurate but vague so you can experience the true ending and challenge for yourself. Good luck, Arisen!

Pro tip:If the credits roll while you are in the Royal Palace, you have unlocked the standard ending. You can select "Load from last save" to try again and unlock the hidden ending.

One more thing. If you've done the normal ending, then as the credits start in the Royal Palace, you can talk to the Pathfinder, who moves around a bit. Talk to the NPC until they give you the option to go back to a time before the battle with the dragon, then follow the steps outlined previously to get to the true Dragon's Dogma 2 ending.

That's it; you've unlocked the true ending of Dragon's Dogma 2. Congratulations, Arisen, you've earned a rest...or maybe you'll jump straight into New Game Plus! The choice, just like everything else in Dragon's Dogma 2, is yours!
