There were a lot of different game releases during 2023 and a large amount of them were hits with those who ended up playing them. But there were some games that flew under the radar a little bit and despite critical acclaim, you could argue Dredge fell under the radar a bit. But good news, it did well enough that there's plenty of upcoming DLC that is set to release in the future. In the midst of announcing the Dredge DLC "The Pale Reach" (which launches on November 16) the developers have given the smallest piece of news related to The Iron Rig DLC.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Nadia Thorne, a Producer at Black Salt Games, explained:
"We’re not stopping here either, as we’re hard at work on our next planned expansion–The Iron Rig – and look forward to sharing more with you soon."
Dredge Iron Rig DLC Release Date
Not too long after the release of Dredge, we got some information about the new content that was planned for the game. That plan included some cosmetic updates that players can check out and on top of that, a new story DLC that was planned for the end of 2023. However, plans changed and it seems like the Iron Rig DLC has been delayed to 2024.
From what was announced, we can safely say that the Iron Rig DLC has been delayed until 2024. As unfortunate as that is, we expect the new DLC to launch very early 2024. On top of that, Black Salt Games is planning on releasing additional content to make up for the delay. So that means there will be even more Dredge content on the horizon.
What Is The Dredge Iron Rig DLC
The Iron Rig DLC is a bigger DLC drop for Dredge. Unlike all of the other updates that we have gotten so far for Dredge. The Iron Rig is a paid story DLC that players can purchase if they want to learn more about the lore of the game. This story DLC will focus on the Ironhaven Corporation that is referenced in Dredge.
The Ironhaven Corporation wants to set up some drilling operations in town that will bring new jobs, and new content, to the game. Gathering materials, new characters, and more will be included in the DLC. In the end, it should add a lot more interesting content to Dredge which will be good for fans who want to learn more about the lore of the game.
