When people think of Elden Ring, they think about how difficult the game is. FromSoftware developed this game, and the way they approach games is different. They make deliberately hard games without the ability to change the difficulty. The reason for that is to make defeating bosses and progressing through the game much more rewarding.

The way that FromSoftware really introduces how difficult the game is through one of the first bosses you will meet, the Tree Sentinel. The Tree Sentinel is basically the "Welcome To Elden Ring" boss as it is a very difficult boss right at the beginning of the game. Here, we will go over the different strategies you can implement to defeat the Tree Sentinel.

The Tree Sentinel is one of the first bosses that you will meet in Elden Ring. You will meet it basically as soon as you get into The Lands Between and can travel all over the map. You will want to approach this fight very carefully. The reason for that is that in most cases, two hits and you are out.

If you pick the Vagabond class, you are lucky because you will have the Heater Shield and have 100% negation against physical attacks. Use that shield to your advantage. For all else, the best thing you can do is wait for him to swing and then attack. Do not get greedy as that is how you will lose most of the time. Essentially, you need to wait your turn to attack.

Other Strategies To Beat The Tree Sentinel

Due to how hard this boss is, you should not expect to beat the Tree Sentinel on your first try. This is especially true if you have never played a FromSoftware Game. Because of that, you might want to give up against the Tree Sentinel. Honestly, leaving and trying again later is one of the best ways to beat the Tree Sentinel.

That is because a little bit later, you will get some key items that will make fighting the Tree Sentinel a lot easier. You will get a horse to ride on to even the playing field. You will get the ability to summon Spirt Ash to distract it. You will get so much more tools in a single hour to beat the Tree Sentinel. If you are struggling against it, just move on for a bit and come back.
