Fall Guys Guide: How to win at Jump Showdown

Now that Fall Guys has finally released, over 1.5 million players have entered the fight for first place in the wacky battle royale-style game. Playing a series of minigames with the aim to be the last jellybean standing at the end of it all, there’s a lot to learn if you want to be the best. Here’s how to win at Jump Showdown.

The latest and greatest addition to the Fall Guys roster, Jump Showdown returns from its time in the game’s beta as the fourth possible final round for players to encounter. Winning this survival game mode will result in the successful player gaining a coveted crown, so be sure to do whatever it takes to stay out of the slime below.

The new level is much like Jump Club, where players must jump over a spinning pole and duck underneath a second without being knocked from the stage, but with a twist. The Jump Showdown poles are double-sided, leading to twice as many jumps and dodges. The stage will also contain breakaway segments of the platform, leading to the playable area getting smaller with every passing moment.

When your section of the stage is shaking, it’s time to move onto an adjacent section that looks safe. Of course, less room to manoeuvre means that you’ll be limited as to where you can jump, so dive only when necessary.

This is the Grand Finals so players will also be jostling and grabbing one another, hoping to push fellow jellybeans to their doom. Due to the distraction of the spinning beams, we recommend staying in the centre of each section of the stage and concentrating more on jumping than grabbing.

If you’re able to be on a stage segment that’s the least-populated when the game reaches its final round, your chances of survival are better than average. Don’t be distracted by other players or the building pressure, and that crown will soon be yours. Reportedly, Jump Showdown was one of the more popular beta levels, so players should be happy to see it return, especially if they can play it instead of Royal Fumble.

Quick Tips

  • Try and stay away from the majority of enemy players where possible - it should lead to less competition on the final platform
  • Diving will allow you to pass through the middle of the two spinning poles
  • Stay as close to the middle of a safe platform as possible to avoid being pushed off by other Fall Guys

Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC. PlayStation Plus members can download it for free this month.
