Every wanted to scream "Hulk Smash!" in Fortnite and look the part? Well, soon you will be able to if you manage to get the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe, which also has a Hulk Buster style. With yet another collaboration between Marvel and Epic Games, we explain how to get the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe for Fortnite.

 

How to get the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe

For those who've been living inside a Hulk-sized crater, you should know Marvel's Avengers, from Square Enix, and Marvel is releasing on 4 September 2020. With the Marvel's Avengers x Fortnite beta, you will be able to earn the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe.

There are some hoops to jump through since simply playing the beta isn't enough. First up, you will need to play it on either PS4 or Xbox One, since the game only releases on those two platforms.

The next step on your quest to get the Hulk Smashers Pickaxe in Fortnite is to link your Epic Games account to your PlayStation or Xbox Live account. Then, you also need to visit this page and link your Epic Games account to it.

 

 

After you've completed all the linking of accounts, you should play the beta during one of the following dates. You don't have to purchase Marvel's Avengers unless you want to be one of the first with the Fortnite Hulk Smashers Pickaxe.

  • August 7-9: PlayStation 4 Pre-Order Beta (only for PS4 pre-order players)
  • August 14-16: PlayStation 4 Open Beta 
  • August 14-16: Xbox One Pre-Order Beta (only for Xbox One pre-order players)
  • August 21-23: Open Beta on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

In the beta, you will also need to complete all three HARM challenges. HARM in Marvel's Avengers stands for Holographic Augmented Reality Machine, and there will be three rooms with increasingly difficult challenges and waves of enemies to destroy.

 

 

At the time of writing, we don't know exactly what the HARM challenges will be. Expect them to be quite difficult. You can play them in the beta with either AI or a friend. 

If you complete these challenges in the beta, you won't just get the Fortnite Hulk Smashers Pickaxe, but you will also get a shiny nameplate for Marvel's Avengers, which carries over to the full game.
