Fortnite Raptors: How to tame and find

Where you can find the Raptors in Fortnite, and how to tame them to get a vicious companion you can't and won't want to ride.
Fortnite Raptors: How to tame and find

Sticking with the "primal" theme of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6, Epic Games has unleashed some new wildlife for players to kill or tame. We are, of course, talking about the Raptors (image above via JayKey) released in the Fortnite v16.10 update on 30th March 2021. With Raptors now hatching, Fortnite players are able to find, tame or kill these prehistoric beasts across the map. Here's how you can tame your very own Raptor in a Fortnite match, and where to find one in the first place.

Where to find Raptors in Fortnite

Just like other wildlife in Fortnite Season 6, Raptors can be found spread across the entire map. They also roam in packs, so be careful, as there will almost always be more than one Raptor in a location.

You should hear some creepy noises from a distance. Raptors in Fortnite Season 6 spawn close to the Hatched Egg locations on the map, so it won't be long until you run into them.

The best way to find Raptors in Fortnite Season 6 right now is to roam the map until you spot one. The Spire and Weeping Woods are good locations to start your hunt.

Fortnite Raptors: How to tame

While you can't ride a Raptor (wouldn't that be awesome?) you can tame one after the Fortnite v16.10 update.

If you want to tame a Raptor in Fortnite, and you've found one, you can follow the simple steps below.

  • Kill wildlife such as boars, wolves or chickens and pick up their meat.
  • Throw the meat near the Raptor.
  • While the Raptor is distracted by the meat, you have a few seconds to interact with it.
  • Tap the interact button to tame a Fortnite Raptor.

This process is the same as taming Wolves in Fortnite. After the taming process is complete, you will have a companion which fights besides you. If you are struggling to tame a Raptor in Fortnite, we recommend crafting the Hunter's Cloak.

You will require one meat and two bones which can be found by killing wildlife. Using this item will mean you are almost invisible to wildlife, making the task of taming a Raptor easier.

So there you have it, where to find the Raptors in Fortnite, and how to tame them. Enjoy your prehistoric companion, if you survive!
