The main way players will want to get Ballistic Shields in Fortnite right now is through an NPC named Leelah.

Leelah can be found east of Hazy Hillside. Players will have to make their way to a small town-like area where there are multiple buildings. Here, players will find Leelah who sells Ballistic Shields for 250 Gold Bars.

There are other ways for players to get Ballistic Shields. For example, Ballistic Shields can be found in treasure chests and vaults. This of course requires a bit of luck. So for consistent Ballistic Shields, head towards Leelah to purchase them for 250 Gold Bars.

Once the Ballistic Shield is equipped, players will also get a handgun as part of the package. You can use the shield as a way to protect yourself while running or moving around. Players can use the shield to cover themselves while they are firing their weapons at their opponents.

The Ballistic Shield is great for players who need to get out of a sticky situation fast but might fail in the long term. The Ballistic Shield can only protect from frontal attacks and it slows down the player. It's best to use the Ballistic Shield to reposition and then use a better weapon to take out enemies.
