The latest major update of Genshin Impact has had thousands of players very busy, as they have ventured once again to Dragonspine Mountain for a new featured event, prompted by the return of Albedo and Eula on a series of special missions.
Now that we are a few days before Shadows Amidst Snowstorms comes to an end, we’ve learned all the details about one of the new characters that will arrive for Phase II of version 2.3, so as usual, it’s time to introduce it with one of our special guides.
Without further ado, let us welcome the powerful and hyperactive leader of the Arataki Gang, “Hanamizaka Heroics” Arataki Itto.
Arataki Itto - Background and Origins
The arrival of Arataki Itto to Genshin Impact was something that had been expected since Inazuma's debut in the 2.0 update, as during part of our trip through the nation of Eternity, we’ve been able to observe a large number of mentions of this powerful adventurer, who is ferociously seeking revenge on Kujou Sara, the right hand of the Raiden Shogun.
After being one of those affected by the Vision Hunt Decree, it’s normal to want that desired revenge against someone as powerful as her. Despite this, this fierce adventurer is often too carefree, spending most of his time lounging around the busy capital of Inazuma.
Something that stands out easily to the eye in Arataki Itto is his crimson horns, as he is someone half human and half oni, however, don’t be fooled by this fact, since Itto's unsuspecting attitude makes him look more like a foolish nightmare than as a threat.
The only thing we could advise you if you’re looking to treat someone like Arataki Itto is that you better be prepared to hear him talk about why he is the best of all the members of his gang, and remember to take some lollipops with you, you never know when you might need them in his presence.
Arataki Itto - Talents
His normal attack, Fight Club Legend, allows him to make up to four consecutive attacks with his Claymore, while hitting an enemy with his second and fourth slashes allows him to accumulate stacks for his Superlative Superstrength, up to a maximum of five stacks.
Likewise, his normal attacks have the peculiarity that they don’t reset after sprinting or using his Elemental Skill.
By holding down and using a charged attack, Arataki Itto will be able to deliver his signature Kesagiri sword strikes, which will consume no Stamina in exchange for a stack of Superlative Superstrength, while the last accumulated stack will unleash a powerful finishing blow.
In case of not having accumulated stacks at any time, the charged attacks will consume stamina, in addition to turning into powerful horizontal slashes.
With his Elemental Skill, Masatsu Zetsugi: Akaushi Burst!, Itto will be able to summon Ushi, the young akaushi bull and an auxiliary member of the Arataki Gang, who will deal Geo DMG on impact and grant him a stack of Superlative Superstrength.
For a brief period, Ushi can stay on the battlefield to assist you against other enemies and grant you more stacks, until its duration end or it falls in combat. Its HP will be based on Itto's maximum HP amount.
Finally, with his Elemental Burst, Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil!, Itto will let out his inner Raging Oni King, also summoning his Oni King’s Kanabou mace for the battle. During this effect, all of his attacks will deal Geo DMG, in addition to increasing his normal attack speed, and his ATK based on his DEF.
Also, all slashes from his normal attacks will be able to create stacks for his passive, but will also reduce his Elemental and Physical RES by 20%. This effect will be active indefinitely until Itto leaves the field.
Arataki Itto - Best Weapons
Redhorn Stonethresher
If we talk about the right weapon for Arataki Itto, the best of all will undoubtedly be the new Claymore that will be introduced with his debut, the Redhorn Stonethresher.
This five-star weapon is one that is said to be capable of making any monster jump on sight, thanks to its tremendous attack power and heavy hits.
As for its stats, it’ll have a base ATK of 44 and a CRIT DMG bonus of 19.2%. In addition, this will increase the DEF by 28/35/42/49/56%, and the damage of normal and charged attacks by an equivalent to 40/50/60/70/80 of the current DEF.
Whiteblind
As next in this list, we recommend you get as soon as possible the Whiteblind, a Claymore part of the Infusion Series, and that is easy to obtain thanks to the crafting system of the game.
This Claymore has a base ATK stat of 42 - 510, and a DEF secondary stat of 11.3% - 51.7%. Additionally, its Infusion Edge allows you to further increase your ATK and DEF by 6/7.5/9/10.5/12% when hitting enemies with normal and charged attacks, up to a maximum of four stacks (24/30/36/42/48%).
In order to craft this Claymore with any blacksmith, you will need a Northlander Claymore Billet, 50 Crystal Chunks, 50 White Iron Chunks, and 500 Mora.
Serpent Spine
As a third option, we cannot avoid mentioning the Serpent Spine, a very rare Claymore from the ocean that, when brandished, emits a hiss reminiscent of the breaking of the waves. This is only available through the Battle Pass rewards.
Crafted from the backbone of a large sea monster, this Liyue weapon has a base ATK of 42 - 510, as well as increases CRIT Rate by 6% - 27.6%.
Its main characteristic comes from its Wavesplitter effect, which will passively increase the damage your character inflicts by 6/7/8/9/10% and will reduce the damage you take by 3/2.7/2.4/2.2/2 %, for every four seconds it’s on the field, up to a maximum of five stacks. Each time you take damage, a stack will be removed.
Arataki Itto - Best Artifacts
Husk of Opulent Dreams
As with the weapon introduced as part of this update, the best artifact set for Itto has already been added as part of the rewards for the "Slumbering Court" domain.
The Husk of Opulent Dreams set allows you to amplify your DEF by 30% when using two pieces, while with four, the character can obtain the Curiosity effect either by hitting an enemy with a Geo attack, by obtaining a stack, or even when your character is off the field.
This effect can stack up to 4 times, with each charge increasing DEF by 6% and granting 6% Bonus Geo DMG. However, if the wearer does not gain a Curiosity stack within six seconds, the character will lose a stack.
Additionally, if you don’t currently have some of the artifacts from the set seen above, you can choose to arm Itto with those of the Archaic Petra set or Receding Meteorite set, which grants a bonus of Geo DMG and Shield Protection respectively with two equipped pieces, while with four both will increase your Elemental and Physical DMG stats.
Artifact Stats
As for their stats, these will be focused on strengthening his DEF and his DMG both in terms of his ATK and his Geo skills, as well as his Energy Recharge, to be able to use his abilities more frequently.
Main stats:
- ATQ
- DEF%
- Geo DMG Bonus%
- CRIT
Sub stats:
- CRIT DMG
- CRIT Rate
- DEF%
- Energy Recharge
- ATK%
- ATQ
Recommended team composition and release date
Being a character with high-impact attacks and versatile abilities, Arataki Itto will be one of the most useful DPS within Genshin Impact, so it’ll be essential to choose correctly the necessary members for your party to be able to maximize his damage potential.
So to complement his playstyle, we recommend choosing from these characters for your main team:
- To begin, we suggest choosing a Geo character with good damage potential. For this, you can choose between the other debutant of this update, the “Canine Warrior” Gorou, or the “Princeps Cretaceus” Albedo, both being great sub-DPS elements with good elemental skills.
- As a second element for your team, it’s important to choose one that allows you to resist more on the battlefield thanks to the help of shields, so here we suggest you take either Zhongli or Noelle with you.
- Finally, it’s crucial to choose a support that gives you as many buffs on the field as heals, so here it’s advisable to choose between Bennett (Pyro), Jean (Anemo), or even Sangonomiya Kokomi (Hydro).
- In any case, you can also choose to go completely offensive and go for another sub-DPS element, such as the Raiden Shogun (Electro) or some archer.
And this is all we have to share with you about Arataki Itto. Remember, this powerful oni will be only available from 15th December 2021 to 4th January 2022, along with Gorou in the “Oni’s Royale” banner, so try to save as many Primogems as possible.
