Shenhe and Yun Jin revealed as new characters for Genshin Impact v2.4

Two new characters are coming to Genshin Impact, Shenhe and Yun Jin, as part of the 2.4 update scheduled to release in 2022.
Shenhe and Yun Jin revealed as new characters for Genshin Impact v2.4

Since the introduction of Inazuma back in July, all Genshin Impact players have enjoyed new stories as well as met powerful and stylish characters, such as the majestic ruler of the nation of Eternity “The Raiden Shogun”, and the “Frostflake Heron” Kamisato Ayaka.

Now that we’re a few days away from the next big update for the game, miHoYo has done it once again by revealing two more characters who will join the roster, as part of Genshin’s 2.4 update.

So, let’s take a look at these new additions, and everything we know about them so far.

First look at "Lonesome Transcendence" Shenhe

Recently, miHoYo has focused on bringing more polearm characters into Genshin Impact, as we have seen in v2.3 with the addition of Thoma, and obviously the introduction of the supreme ruler of Inazuma.

For v2.4, this won’t be an exception as both new characters will be polearm users, starting with the long-rumoured Cryo character, the “Ethereal Soul Amidst the Mortal Realm”, Shenhe.

According to miHoYo, Shenhe “comes from a branch family of a clan of exorcists and due to certain reasons, the Cloud Retainer Adepti took her in as a disciple, as she stands out as special from amongst the mortals she has instructed.”

Thanks to this, Shenhe has a unique constitution, an immensely strong will, and a great talent for adepti arts, all of which have won her their acknowledgement.

However, the long years of cultivation, coupled with the habit of eating divine herbs and drinking the dew of the mountains, have made her more and more distant from earthly life, and she has even been regarded as a mysterious white-haired adeptus.

To this, we must add the occasional sharpness in her personality and the red ropes adorning her body, while her secrets and feelings are as difficult to capture as the drifting clouds in the mountains.

First look at “Stage Lucida” Yun Jin.

The second Genshin Impact 2.4 character addition has a big contrast when compared to Shenhe, as she is a Geo polearm character with a virtuous talent known for being the Current Director of Yun-Han Opera Troupe, introducing the “Stage Lucida”, Yun Jin.

Yun Jin is a famous figure in Liyue Harbor's opera scene, also known for her sweet singing voice and intricate costumes, as well as her animated and dynamic performances. Whether it's a delicate and dignified young lady or a mighty and honourable heroine, she is capable of playing any role.

Besides, what's even rarer is that she is also a playwright, as almost all of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe new plays have been written by Yun Jin, always displaying a dignified and elegant image.

But despite her delicate appearance, there is something that not many know, and that is that deep down she likes listening to rock 'n' roll, so if you ever see her performing wildly in Liyue Harbor, please refrain from telling the whole world about it or she might get nagged by the elders again.

Both Shenhe and Yun Jin will be released as part of Genshin’s 2.4 update on 5th January 2022. Details about their attacks, skills, and all the content coming with the new update will be released soon, so stay tuned.
