Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5)'s next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles gets unleashed on 15th March 2022. With across-the-board improvements for both the story mode and GTA Online, such as faster loading times, a plethora of graphics improvements such as Ray Tracing, better water reflections and more, we can't wait to once again experience the stories of Franklin, Michael, and Trevor across the sun-soaked metropolis of Los Santos. Before we can experience it, however, we need to pre-load GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and the download size is quite big.
In this guide, we outline exactly how you can pre-load GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the expected file size.
How to pre-load GTA 5 on PS5 & Xbox Series X
Pre-loading GTA 5 on either PS5 or Xbox Series X is quite easy. There is, however, one issue.
Gamers will need to purchase the next-gen version, as there are no free upgrades available on Xbox Series X. On PS5, the game will be free for the first three months following the 15th March release.

Simply head to the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store to pre-order the game. Once your pre-order is complete, you can start pre-loading the game, and we suggest you start early due to the massive file size.
GTA 5 next-gen PS5 / Xbox Series X file size
Fasten those seatbelts, GTA 5 is quite huge on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
For PS5, the GTA 5 next-gen file size is roughly 86.8 GB. On Xbox Series X/S, however, it is a bit bigger, weighing in at 94,2 GB.
This might be due to the compression tech thanks to PS5's faster SSD. Keep in mind that depending on the language players choose, the file size might vary a bit.
Even so, expect a huge download. Thankfully, you can pre-load GTA 5 right now!
So there you have it, a complete guide to pre-loading GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as the expected file size for each of the next-gen (or should we start saying current-gen?) platforms.
