Hades 2 Early Access Is Now Open

Hades II, the long-awaited sequel to the popular roguelike game Hades, is now available through Early Access on Steam. Developers SuperGiant games stated that they've been working on the game for over three years, and it's "far enough along that as many players as possible [can] have a good experience right away." However, the Early Access state of the game is also "not [so far along] that it's too late in development for [SuperGiant] to act on feedback."

The developers have stated that the game will remain in Early Access at least until the end of 2024, allowing them time to iron out bugs and create the ideal experience for players when the full game is released. There's "no specific end date" to the Early Access period at this time.

“Hades II in Early Access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game. But it isn't complete, and key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come," developers said of the Early Access title.

They noted that the full version of the game will have "more complete, more polished" features, including Steam Achievements and a "true" story ending. Major updates to the Early Access title will be released every few months, with an in-game development roadmap available to curious players.

Hades 2 is a standalone title, meaning that you don't need to own or have played the first one to play it. You can try out Hades II in Early Access on Steam now for $29.99. Developers have stated that the retail price may change in the future based on the scope of additional content that is added to the game before its full release.
