Asus has announced that the ROG Ally will be released on June 13, 2023. This is the launch date for the more powerful model that comes with an AMD Z1 Extreme processor and a 512 GB SSD. This model is available for pre-order starting today, exclusively at Best Buy.

However, if you are willing to wait a little longer and settle for a less powerful model, you can save some money. Asus has confirmed that there will be another version of the ROG Ally that will ship in Q3 2023. This model will have an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor and a 512 GB SSD as well. Asus says this model will have a similar performance to the Steam Deck4.

The Asus ROG Ally is not a cheap device. The more powerful model that launches in June will cost $699.99 USD. This is $50 more than the most expensive Steam Deck model that has a 512 GB SSD and an exclusive carrying case. However, the ROG Ally has a higher resolution display, a faster refresh rate, and a newer processor than the Steam Deck.

The less powerful model that launches in Q3 will cost $599.99 USD. This is the same price as the mid-tier Steam Deck model with a 256 GB SSD and faster storage. However, the ROG Ally has twice the storage capacity and a higher resolution display than the Steam Deck.
