PS5 pre-orders start 10 September for 24K gold edition worth £8000

If you’re very desperate to pre-order a PlayStation 5 and have £8000 spare, this gold edition is your first chance to bag Sony’s machine.

A 24K gold PlayStation 5 is available to pre-order from 10th September, if you have an obscene amount of money laying around.

A third-party website Truly Exquisite has released the prices of PS5 consoles made from gold, ranging from £7999 to £8099.

If you’re extra fancy, you can even splash on a platinum version worth £8199, or £8299 if you opt for the disc drive console.

The listing reads: “The long awaited and much anticipated Sony PlayStation 5 just got even better! Truly Exquisite are proud to announce that we bring to you yet another release first… this time it will be in the form of the brand new Sony PS5… available to buy in luxury 24K Gold, Platinum and also 18K Rose Gold finishes.”

Pre-orders for the gold consoles go live on 10th September, so could this point towards Sony announcing official pre-orders for the standard versions around the same time?

It’s still unclear when exactly the PS5 will launch, although all signs point towards November considering Microsoft is releasing their competitor the Xbox Series X in that month.

Both companies are also being sheepish about an official price, although Microsoft recently revealed their cheaper model Xbox Series S would be priced £249.99.
