Here's how to continue the main story in Identity V so you can progress in the game.
Identity V: How To Continue The Main Story

NetEase's 4v1 asymmetrical game Identity V is worth playing in 2023 for a variety of reasons; it's popular for its gameplay, unique visuals, and its intriguing story. However, many players find themselves confused about how to progress with Identity V's storyline. The game isn't a story-based game, though it does have a lot of lore, so it might not be obvious how to dig deeper into the stories of characters and their surrounding world.

Thankfully, though, there is plenty of story beyond what you see on the tin, and it's not hard to access it. In this article, we'll walk you through how to continue the Identity V main story.

How To Continue The Identity V Main Story

The Identity V Main story begins in the tutorial, so it's important to play through the tutorial instead of skipping it if you want to get a feel for the story in Identity V. You'll be introduced to the newest main character from the most recent major v2.0 story update, and, by playing as Alice, you'll get to know a little more about her story and her ongoing investigation.

But how do you continue the story after you've finished the tutorial? You'll need to enter Story Mode, which will take you through the stories of various characters. To enter Story mode, you'll have to complete deduction quests for each character.

How To Enter Story Mode In Identity V

In the main lobby, you can grab a book from the bookshelf by selecting the prompt "Read Diary." From this bookshelf, you can choose to play any character you like. For characters with Deduction stories and quests, you'll unlock cutscenes and other new content simply by playing the game. While not all survivor's characters have fleshed-out stories in the form of their diaries, most of them do. Hunters, on the other hand, have lore that has been alluded to and hinted at, but do not maintain their own diaries or deduction quests.

Now you know how to continue on with the main story in Identity V and complete the game's storyline. By doing this, you'll learn more about the game's existing characters, as well as how they fit into the surrounding world of Identity V. The game's lore is pretty complex, but the best way to learn about it is to play the game for yourself and dig into those characters' deduction stories.
