Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has officially joined G2 Esports for the 2021 season.

After being strongly rumoured to join the organisation following his departure from close rival Fnatic, the 24-year-old Swedish player will now play for G2 Esports as their AD Carry.

Speaking in an announcement video, Rekkles said: “Maybe you thought I’d stay in Fnatic forever. But I’m ready for a new challenge and grateful for everything you’ve given me.

“I promised I would win Worlds. And I will.”

This means Rekkles will reunite with Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther on G2’s roster, after the latter left Fnatic ahead of the 2019 season.

While the recent departure of Luka “Perkz” Perkovic left some hanging questions over G2’s future, their new roster is now looking pretty formidable. Rekkles was a Worlds finalist in 2018, and is joining a squad which managed to make the Worlds semi-finals this year.
