Riot drops official League of Legends Worlds 2020 song Take Over

Ahead of the League of Legends World Championship, Riot Games has released this year’s official song for the event.

Titled Take Over, the track is a collaboration between A Day To Remember frontman Jeremy McKinnon, US singer Max Schneider aka MAX and Henry Lau.

The song itself is heavy on bass and light on subtlety, largely just repeating the conventional, anthemic tropes we’ve come to expect from Worlds tracks in recent years.

The animated video however is worth a spin, featuring a young League of Legends player climbing his way to the top and eventually reaching the Worlds stage.

There’s even animated versions of League pros Faker and Mata who show up too, which is a nice touch.

This isn’t the only song connected to Worlds 2020 however, with Riot’s own K-pop group K/DA having released their second single THE BADDEST to honour the World Championship too.

The League of Legends World Championship 2020 will start on Friday 25th September.
