Taking place across Riot Games' catalog of popular titles is a brand new event — Soul Fighter. Whether you play League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Wild Rift, or Legends of Runeterra, you'll be able to dive into this a six-week event inspired by fighting games. 

According to Riot Games, the event is the studios' tribute to the fighting game genre, taking inspiration from unique character moments from fighting games and anime tournament arcs. This will translate into new game modes, skins, gameplay features and more across all of the Runeterra titles. 

But for a huge majority of players, the most exciting aspect of this event will be finding out what's heading to League of Legends. Riot Games has revealed that aside from a selection of brand new skins, players will be able to take part in a new game mode, add a new Champion to their roster, and more. 

When Does Soul Fighter Event Start In League of Legends?

The Soul Fighter event will begin in League of Legends on Thursday, July 20. The event will run for six weeks, finishing on Monday, August 28. The event will roll out at the same time globally and will span, not just LoL, but all four of the Runeterra titles. As part of the event, Riot Games will host Soul Fighter: Fight Night — a broadcasted event where 16 content creators will compete for the title of Fight Night Champion. 

The event will be held in Los Angeles, California and will be livestreamed via Twitch on July 17 at 6 p.m. PT.

Soul Fighter League of Legends: Arena Game Mode Explained

If you're planning to jump into Soul Fighter via League of Legends, then there's plenty of content to look forward to. As part of the event, LoL players can expect a brand new game mode called Arena. Four teams of two players each fight one another in rotating combat rounds. After each round, they'll power up with unique Augments until only one team is left standing.

Players will see their fights take place across four different battlefields, varying in size, terrain density, and theme. Champions from the Soul Fighter universe will also make occasional appearances in matches to either aid or hinder players.

In addition to a new game mode, a brand new Champion will be arriving in League of Legends — Naafiri the Hound of a Hundred Bites — along with 12 new Soul Fighter skins. These are:

  • Soul Fighter Naafiri
  • Soul Fighter Shaco

Soul Fighter League of Legends: Tournament of Souls Explained

Exclusive to League of Legends is Tournament of Souls, a style-rating focused combo-battler that takes place in-client. Players take on the role of Samira and gain Reputation by playing games of League, which unlocks new opponents and new abilities. The objective of the tournament is to defeat all ten opponent champions and become the new champion. Players can claim rewards after each victory and can unlock the Story and Expert difficulty levels.
