In celebration of Marvel Rivals reaching its one-year milestone since the Closed Alpha, the developers at NetEase are bringing back the Season 0 Battle Pass. This version is packed with content that newer players may have missed, but there are a few caveats worth discussing. Let’s break down all the details surrounding the return of the Season 0 Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals Announces the Return of the Season 0 Battle Pass
As mentioned previously, Marvel Rivals is celebrating the first anniversary of its closed alpha test—and with it, the return of the Season 0 Battle Pass. The pass will be available starting May 15, 2025, at 2 AM PDT and will remain active until May 29, 2025, at 2 AM PDT. However, players should be aware that this is only the Luxury version of the battle pass, meaning it won’t include the free tiers originally offered during its first run.
From what we can tell… it began out of curiosity.💫

Originally priced at 500 Lattice (around $5) when it launched in December 2024, Season 0 only ran for a single month and included half the content of a full battle pass. This returning version will now cost 590 Lattice, a slight increase, but still a solid opportunity for players to grab cosmetics they may have missed out on the first time around.
The returning Season 0 pass will feature exclusive costumes such as:
- Black Panther – Galactic Claw
- The Punisher – Thunderbolts
- Doctor Strange – God of Magic
- Hela – Empress of the Cosmos
- Mantis – Galactic Wings
Each costume comes with associated cosmetics and also includes bonus Lattice and Units, which players can use toward future purchases. With some smart planning, you could even earn enough in-game currency to help fund your next season’s content.
The return of older battle passes in the future
What makes this especially exciting is the precedent it sets for Marvel Rivals’ battle pass system. Unlike many other games, this approach opens the door for the return of previous battle passes in the future. According to the developers, older battle passes may return as long as they meet two conditions:
- The original battle pass must be at least two seasons old.
- The re-released version must be priced at least 20% higher than its original price.
These conditions are designed to encourage players to participate during the original season, offering a lower price and a sense of exclusivity, while still giving newcomers a chance to catch up later. It’s a smart system that strikes a balance between exclusivity, value, and accessibility, and we’re hoping to see this trend continue in the future of Marvel Rivals.
