Given the recent release of Marvel Spider-Man Remastered, the title has seen even more success than its initial release back in 2018. The community, however, didn't take long to scrutinize the game from all angles, and upon doing so, discovered something that pertains to a possibility of a Co-op mode.
In this post, we'll take a look at the information received from the recent PC Port leaks, and how they allude to the possibility of a Co-op mode for Marvel Spider-Man Remastered.
Spider-Man Possible Co-op mode leaked by PC Port
On Twitter, PC modder dniwetamp discovered lines of code in the recent PC remaster that refer directly to previously unseen multiplayer modes. Insomniac Games appears to have experimented with Co-op modes in which players compete against each other while exploring New York City.

PVP elements are suggested by message prompts such as "Peter Parker Is The Superior Spider-Man" or "Miles Morales Is The Superior Spider-Man." The most curious piece of evidence is the one line of that code that states, "If set and in cooperative mode, Character2 will see this text."
When Marvel's Spider-Man and its spin-off, Miles Morales, were released, neither had multiplayer modes. However, when Insomniac Games revealed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would feature both web slingers, fans assumed that co-op features would be included.

It should be noted that because both games use the same engine, it's possible that developers were testing out the Co-op mode for the sequel. This might be the reason for these traces of code in the game, as they could be traces of their experiments behind.
The developers stated on a PlayStation blog at the time of the sequel's announcement in September 2021 that they were excited to "continue the journey of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in their most epic single-player adventure yet." Most would conclude that the two heroes would be teaming up in the future iterations of the games which would include a Co-op mode, but the developers have left the community in silence.
Insomniac Games has been keeping information very close to the chest regarding the upcoming sequel, though their Co-op position may have shifted during development. But as of right now, Insomniac has said nothing regarding the possibility of Co-op and its appearance in the upcoming or current Spider-Man games.
