Developer Bad Ridge Games released their latest Developer Update post, which provided players with updates and forthcoming plans for their medieval fantasy RPG, Mirthwood. This latest blog post comes following the launch of their major Marriage Update, which allows players to "propose to any romanceable NPC" in-game, and upon accepting the proposal, their "spouse will move to the farm after a humble wedding ceremony."
The game's developer updated players on what's currently in development and a few things on the cards for Mirthwood. This included a possible game launch for the medieval fantasy RPG on another platform; however, details are fairly minimal as of writing.
Mirthwood's developer, Bad Ridge Games, detailed in their latest Developer Update post that they revealed some information on what's to come for the medieval fantasy RPG. The developer released the Marriage Update in March 2025 for PC, and as such, the purpose of their latest Developer Update post is to "check in and share" what the team has been "working on."
"Since the Marriage update, our focus has been on bringing co-op functionality to Mirthwood. This is coming along nicely! When we get a bit closer, we’ll share more details - but expect to play together remotely (through Steam Remote Play) or locally, while each managing your own inventories and skills," the Developer Update post reads.
With "co-op functionality" currently being worked on, they also broke news that they're working on launching the medieval fantasy RPG on another platform. "We’re also going to be working (with a partner) on porting to the (Nintendo) Switch, which we’re excited about," however, the developer continued that porting the game to the Switch console requires "updating our Unity version, which is unexpectedly eating into some of the development time set aside for other roadmap items."
Bad Ridge Games has promised to update players regarding the game's possible launch for the Nintendo Switch console and "co-op functionality" as they continue "to work on additional content like children, instruments, and… something larger." It's unclear if the Mirthwood port will be for the original Switch and the Switch 2 console or the Switch 2 console only, but the developer will announce new details on the game's Switch port as development continues.
