With a new game on the way, the MLB The Show 24 legends roster will continue bringing iconic players to an already extensive lineup of baseball greats from the past. Each new installment builds on what we've seen in recent years, and that includes last year's inaugural Negro Leagues mode featuring players from that period in history.

Not every prolific player makes the cut, but many of the most impactful players baseball has ever seen should make it into the MLB The Show 24 legends roster. With more reveals looming in the coming weeks, we've got details on every new legend they've confirmed so far and who else could be on the way.

Updated February 23, 2024: The latest Storylines: Derek Jeter Feature Premiere broke down several aspects of that experience and confirmed some of the new legends that will be included as they trek through Jeter's most career-defining moments.

We've still got plenty of reveals on the way, but the first news about the Negro Leagues Storylines for Season 2 has confirmed three new MLB The Show 24 legends and an alternate era version of one fans already know and love. Several were also announced as part of the Feature Premiere for the Storylines: Derek Jeter mode.

Here's a list of all confirmed MLB The Show 24 legends so far:

  • Josh Gibson (New)
  • Buck Leonard (New)
  • Hank Aaron
  • Toni Stone (New)
  • Chili Davis
  • Wade Boggs
  • Derek Jeter
  • Mariano Rivera
  • Jorge Posada
  • Andy Pettite (New)
  • Paul O'Neill (New)
  • Bernie Williams (New)

Notable among this year's new legends, Toni Stone breaks ground as the first female ballplayer in MLB The Show franchise history. Storylines is also pacing themselves as far as rolling out every bit of content this year, so a few weeks after launch new legends and chapters will be added to both the Derek Jeter and Negro Leagues modes.

The full Negro Leagues Season 2 will feature 10 different legends, hopefully several of which will be new arrivals as part of the MLB The Show 24 legends roster. More of the MLB The Show 24 new legends will be revealed as the release date draws near, and we take a closer look below at some of the other names that could be on the table.

MLB The Show 24 Legends Roster Predictions

With the announcement of the MLB The Show 24 Negro Leagues Edition, we got confirmation that this storied part of African-American baseball will continue to be preserved and highlighted in the franchise's next arrival. Their reveal trailer particularly focused on printed history and the impact that Black press made on preserving and immortalizing these legendary athletes.

We don't yet know all the new players that will be included in that Storylines mode, but here are just a few Negro Leagues greats that could make the MLB The Show 24 legends roster:

  • John Henry "Pop" Lloyd
  • Oscar Charleston
  • Turkey Stearnes
  • Mule Suttles
  • Ray Dandridge
  • Cool Papa Bell
  • Willie Wells
  • Judy Johnson
  • "Bullet" Joe Rogan
  • Pete Hill
  • José Méndez

On top of the players we'll learn about in that game mode, the larger MLB The Show 24 legends roster is sure to include some players that haven't signed agreements in the past and some who only retired in the last several years. Here's just a few we might see this year:

  • Barry Bonds
  • Scott Rolen
  • Tim Lincecum
  • Alex Rodriguez
  • Moises Alou
  • Rick Ankiel
  • Gil Hodges
  • Carl Yastrzemski
  • Roger Clemens
  • Carlos Beltran
  • Johan Santana
  • Jim Kaat
  • Bobby Abreau
  • Gil Hodges
  • Bartolo Colon

There are a variety of reasons some players haven't made it into the game in previous years. Sony San Diego has avoided players with PED usage in their careers for many years, but we saw Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa change that up last year. Ultimately, these choices can also come down to whether the players themselves are interested in signing agreements to allow their likeness to be used in the series.

Which new legends did MLB The Show 23 have?

While the new additions to the MLB The Show 24 legends roster might not be as extensive as the full list we've predicted, there should be a significant new group of players joining the fold. Here are all the new legends that were added in MLB The Show 23:

  • Hilton Smith
  • Martín Dihigo
  • Rube Foster
  • Buck O’Neil
  • Hank Thompson
  • Satchel Paige
  • John Donaldson
  • Jake Peavy
  • Matt Cain
  • Kyle Seager
  • David Wright
  • Chili Davis
  • Sammy Sosa
  • Carlos Pena
  • Mark McGwire
  • Ryan Braun
  • Alex Gordon
  • Raul Ibanez
  • Mark Mulder
  • Ryan Ludwick
  • Derek Jeter
  • Ian Kinsler
  • Mike Lowell
  • Greg Vaughn

Seven of last year's 24 legends roster additions were part of the Negro Leagues Storylines mode, and we may see a similar makeup when the MLB The Show 24 legends roster is revealed.
