Within moments of stepping foot into the mysterious Fae Wilds in Nightingale, you'll discover that it's not always a friendly place. As a Realmwalker, you'll be building, crafting, and fighting your way across the different realms, all to survive and make your way to the city of Nightingale.

By default, you'll begin your journey with the first-person view. If you've spent a lot of time creating your character, getting them to look just right, then you might want to switch to a third-person view from time to time. Here's how to change the camera in Nightingale.

Changing the camera perspective to third-person is simple once you know how. Simply press F5 on your keyboard. At the time of writing, this key bind isn't noted in the list of controls, so it can take some working out.

The game is still in early access, though. Bugs, features, and accessibility are all elements that will likely be worked and improved on over time. For now, pressing F5 on your keyboard should change the camera perspective to third-person.

It can have a number of benefits and, for some, can be a more comfortable way of playing games. You'll get to see exactly how your character fits into the world, and it could prove useful when playing with friends. Interestingly, regardless of which camera perspective you're playing in, emotes will be performed from third-person.

Nightingale is available to play on PC via Steam and The Epic Games Store. The game launched in early acess on February 20, 2024.
