How To Get Competitive Points In Overwatch 2

For those who are able to get into the Overwatch 2 servers despite the DDoS attacks, you might be taking rank in the competitive mode of the game. Here, the gameplay gets intense and players are fighting to reach the highest rank possible.

You might have noticed that you have earned a collection of Competitive Points (CP) while you were playing. Here, we go over how you get CP to use for in-game rewards in Overwatch 2.

How To Earn CP And What To Spend It On

CP is a currency that you will earn through playing in competitive mode in Overwatch 2. Those who have played Overwatch 1 will automatically have access to Competitive in Overwatch 2. But those who did not play Overwatch 1 will have to go through the First-Time User Experience (FTUE) program to play Competitive mode.

FTUE is Blizzard's way of easing new players to Overwatch 2. To get into Competitive mode, you will need to win 50 Quick Play matches. Not just play 50 Quick Play matches, but win them. It is a high barrier but it will prepare new players for Competitive gameplay.

Once you have passed that barrier, Competitive is available to play. Through Competitive, players will eventually earn CP. Players will get 15 CP for a win and 5 CP for a draw, and zero for a loss. At the end of the season, players will earn CP based on their placements on their rank. Here are the CP rewards based on rank:

  • Bronze: 65 CP
  • Silver: 125 CP
  • Gold: 250 CP
  • Platinum: 500 CP
  • Diamond: 750 CP
  • Master: 1200 CP
  • Grandmaster: 1750 CP

CP currently has a limited number of rewards that you can spend on at the moment. CP can only be used to buy Golden weapons for any hero of your choosing. The current going rate for golden weapons is 3000 CP.

So even if you place high at the end of a season, it will not be enough to buy a golden weapon. The best and fastest way to earn CP in Overwatch 2 is to win competitive games consistently.
