Overwatch 2 has adopted the free-to-play model for the game which means there is a battle pass for players to collect rewards from. This includes skins, emotes, and more.

Even the new Hero Kiriko is on the battle pass in Overwatch 2. You purchase the battle pass through Overwatch Coins, the new currency of the game. Here, we go over how you can get Overwatch Coins in Overwatch 2 for free.

Overwatch Coins are the main premium currency you are going to want to earn in the game. Overwatch has always had very popular skins for its characters in the game, and players do what they can to get them.

If you want more skins, emotes, victory poses, and more in Overwatch 2, you need to get yourself some Overwatch Coins. Thankfully, there are ways to earn them naturally through playing the game. If you want to earn Overwatch Coins, you need to complete weekly challenges.

In Overwatch 2, there are weekly challenges that are available for you to tackle. Weekly challenges like winning multiple games, healing, a lot of damage, and more. Blizzard has stated that players can complete most weekly challenges through natural gameplay and playing all the roles in the game.

By completing weekly challenges, you will be able to earn Overwatch Coins. You can earn up to 60 coins in a week if you complete all the weekly challenges. During an entire season, that will amount to about 540 Overwatch Coins that you can earn for free.

At the moment, completing the battle pass in Overwatch 2 does not earn you Overwatch Coins. So weekly challenges are the only way to earn Overwatch Coins for free right now.

Of course, players are more than welcome to purchase Overwatch Coins outright as well. 100 Overwatch Coins is about $1 USD.
