Overwatch 2 Hero Mastery Mode Release Date

Yes, the Hero Mastery Mode for Overwatch 2 has been delayed. One thing that Overwatch 2 is good with is telling players when their events are supposed to happen. The various roadmaps give players a good timeframe for when things are supposed to launch. Typically, new game modes in a season are available at the launch of the new season.

But it looks like the Hero Mastery Mode will be delayed during Season 6 of Overwatch 2. In a blog post, Blizzard posted an update that says that they are postponing the launch of the Hero Mastery Mode. The update reads: "In order to deliver the best possible experience for the new Hero Mastery mode, we are postponing the launch of the mode to our Overwatch 2: Invasion mid-season update in September. Thank you for understanding." This means players will have to wait until September to play Hero Mastery Mode.

What Is Hero Mastery Mode In Overwatch 2?

During Season 6, there will be a lot of story-based PvE content that is available for Overwatch 2. The PvE story missions will have players take on the role of various characters that they might not be used to using in Overwatch 2. That is why Hero Mastery Mode was essential because it allows players to get better at using heroes they might not be used to using.

So the fact that Hero Mastery Mode is delayed to being available after the launch of the story mode missions is a major problem. This means that players might be stuck using characters that they might be used to using. This is especially problematic since the story mission is paywalled as well.

When it is released, players will get the chance to try out each obstacle course for each character. You will be collecting coins and taking down enemies using all of your character's abilities. Some characters will have robotic enemies that are specific to them to help prepare players for a variety of situations. Unfortunately, only some characters will have Hero Mastery Mode available to them to start. There is not a timeline available to see when more heroes will be added either.
